Frequently asked questions about Pension Margarete
Getting here, check-in and parking
When can I check in?
From 3:00 PM. If your room is ready earlier, you’re welcome to check in before then—just ask when you arrive. You can park your car straight away in any case and head out. If possible, please leave your luggage in the car, as we only have limited storage space.
I’m arriving late—will that be a problem?
No, but please let us know if you’ll be arriving after 8:00 PM or if your journey is delayed. That way we know you’re still coming and we’ll keep the room reserved for you.
By when do I need to check out?
By 10:00 AM. If you’d like to leave before 7:00 AM, please tell us the day before—we’ll set the front door so you can get out at any time. Please leave the key at reception or in the room.
Is there parking?
Yes—free of charge, right in front of the house, and no reservation needed. Please park so there’s as much space as possible for other guests. In heavy snowfall, access can be challenging for two-wheel-drive vehicles—please follow the signs for chains required and fit your chains in good time.
Is there a charging station for electric cars?
No, we don’t have our own charging station.
How do I get to you without a car?
Zell am See has a train station with good connections; from the station, a bus runs to the cable car, and the stop is just a few steps from us. It’s 2 km to the centre—about 20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by bus. As our guest, you receive the Guest Mobility Ticket year-round and can use the region’s buses free of charge.
Rooms and amenities
What rooms do you offer?
We have double rooms in several categories: Standard with balcony and mountain view, Valley View overlooking the Schmittental, Twin with separate beds, Basic without a balcony with a terrace on the parking-lot side, a newly renovated Boutique Double Room with balcony and an extra daybed, and Comfort Rooms for up to three people with a bathtub. You’ll find all categories with photos and prices on our Rooms page.
What amenities do the rooms have?
Shower and toilet, flat-screen TV, telephone and safe. Some rooms have a balcony; the Comfort Rooms have a bathtub. Wi-Fi is free throughout the house, and there is a lift.
What does it cost for children, and do you provide cots?
Children staying in their parents’ room receive a discount—just ask when you enquire and we’ll calculate it for you. We provide a high chair and a cot on request. The Comfort Room for up to three people and the Boutique Double Room with its extra daybed are best suited for an additional child.
Is the house accessible?
No. We do have a lift, but it stops at a half-landing—so there are still a few steps to each room. For guests who rely on step-free access, our house is therefore not suitable. If you’re unsure whether it will work for you, give us a call—we’ll tell you honestly.
May I smoke?
Rooms and indoor areas are non-smoking. You may smoke on the balconies.
Can I use a double room as a single?
Yes, on request. Get in touch and we’ll find a solution.
Are pets allowed?
No, unfortunately we can’t accommodate pets.
Breakfast and dining
When is breakfast served?
Our breakfast buffet is available from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM—fresh every day and with regional products. Breakfast on your arrival day is possible for an additional charge, even if your room isn’t ready yet.
Do you serve dinner in-house?
We don’t have a restaurant—we’re a bed and breakfast. In winter, however, you can choose from our small snack menu from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. For a leisurely dinner, you’ll find plenty of restaurants in Zell’s town centre—we’ll be happy to recommend options to suit your tastes.
Can I have a drink in the evening?
In winter, we run a small bar in our lounge from 4:00 PM, with hot and cold drinks. We close around 10:30 PM.
